THE THREAD CITY FAMILY GARDEN
Windham's flagship Youth-led Market Garden is located between the soccer field and skate park along the Natchaug River. It hosts volunteers every Saturday morning during the growing season, from 9 am to noon. Volunteers can expect to learn about substainable growing practices, food justice, and youth activism. THE WAIM COMMUNITY GARDEN is a shared garden space that is made up of two parts. The upper garden consistsof individual garden plots that are available for lease from WAIM fir a small fee; the lower garden is a larger garden space of raised beds dedicated to growing food for the Covenant Soup Kitchen and other local food pantries. For information about reserving a garden plot in the upper section of the WAIM Community Garden, Contact WAIM at (860) 456-7270 and ask for Neenah; to volunteer in the lower garden to grow food for local food donation, join us on Saturday mornings between 8:30 am - 11:30 am , rain or shine from March through November.
